Is it OK to change the scriptures in order to imply that God is a trinity and fit in with a pagan teaching?
At John 1:1 where it says that 'the Word was God', it can be argued that this scripture actually says the 'Word was divine' (as are all the angels) and also it could be worded "the Word was a god" (all the angels are godly creatures and not human). Bearing in mind that the pagans at the time of Constantine, Emperor of Rome in the 4th century did used to worship tri-gods, and Constantine had a difficult situation occurring whereby he needed to join together the early Christians and the pagan Roman citizens, when he called them together and the Roman Catholic church was formed, do you think this could have affected the translation of that scripture so that we would all believe in the trinity. Why is God's name at Psalm 83:18 not 'Jesus'. Is Jehovah/Yahweh the father and Jesus the son and are they one as a trinity or are they separate? The name Jehovah/Yahweh means 'I am who I am', just as the name Peter means 'rock' and all our names have meanings. Should therefore Jehovah/Yahweh's name be kept in place and used just as the name Peter is used and not 'Rock'. Also at Mt 6:9 why does Jesus not ask us to pray to himself, but to his father? Having said all this, do you think it is shocking that Jehovah's witnesses do not have their own concordance in the Koine language and rely on evidence from other denominations in order to translate 1 Cor 11:10 instead of keeping separate in their translation work?
