May I need to register stock issuance?

If I found a C Corporation in North Carolina and want to issue some stock to me. May I need to register the stock issuance with the state? If in the future, I get some investment from 2 or 3 of my friends through selling some company stock. May I need to register the stock issuance to the investors?
