I have lost A lot of money on my Halifax investor isa can anyone tell me where this money goes?

I invested �3500 in a Halifax Investor isa in 2006 i have lost almost �3000 im told by Halifax that its because of the problems that is ongoing in the world today, i.e problems with the euro and the asian states. Who has my money and where has it gone
