Why do republicans have such a viral attitude toward the concept of Equality?

And what is it about you leftists that despise anyone who take full advantage of the opportunities afforded them and actually becomes successful due to hard work? The things that are not equal are most often a good work ethic, personal choices, and a willingness to actually learn by studying while in school. Everyone, regardless of economics, is given the opportunity to learn in this country. The difference is not everyone takes advantage of it and then they want the equality given to them by those who have applied themselves when they didn't apply themselves.
